April 1st, 2009
~ TOTallyTOT. Demands.
Anytheway, remember when I told you guys about how
my parents gave me my birthday present like a week early because they wouldn’t
be in PJ on the 19th? Well, I actually got another present on the actual day
all thanks to Lai Mun and Sam.
See, my birthday fell on a Thursday, a working day
nonetheless so any chance of celebrating it properly is kinda small, or so I
thought.
My birthday started off with birthday wishes from
my friends and then it got a little bit better because that was the day I got
my paaayyyccchhheeeccckkkk!! Hahahaha. Then barulah
semangat nak buat kerje
Lunch time, went with the usual people – Sam, Kak Aizza, Kak Ayu, Ezra and Firdaus - to this restaurant by the name of Arabian Flavour aka 62.
One of the many places I’d miss after 10th April..
Normally, I’m not a big fan of Arabian food but this
shop serves one of the best Arabian cuisines. Affordable some more okay! And
I’ll always remember that place as the first place I ever ate mushrooms at.
LOL.
Then, camwhored a bit at the restaurant because Sam kindly brought a camera to capture the special moments on the day that I turned legal. Haha. We passed the camera around, and thus we got a lot of pictures albeit some of them turned out to be rather blurry but it’s the memories that count riiigghhttt?!
Kak Ayu & Ezra also respectively known as the former intern and the person who tortures me with 20 phone survey forms on a weekly basis.
…with Kak Aizza on the right. Eh you guys should see her daughter, superbly adorable weh!
That’s Sam with Kak Kun in the back. Haha. And of
course the adorable one on the right is yours truly la
Actually Kak Aizza was focusing on the bottle of
sauce not the guy in the background. LOL.
This is the only flattering photo of you ah Firdaus Ibrahim. Sorry yek. It was either this or the one of
you eating the es lilin at BBQ
Chicken. Haha.
Post lunch, back to work or rather back to lepak – ing because these past few
weeks, we’d been quite free and so we’ve been using our very much desired free
time by doing Sudoku (Sam), doing word search (yours truly, of course) and
reading magazines (Jason) yadayadayadayada..You get the point.
Also, not to forget, more camwhoring!
Semangat Suria yo! Haha.
This is what our (the interns’ table) looks like. Some said it resembles a rat’s nest, some said it’s more of a chicken coop but I call it the Table of The Most Efficient & Productive People in Suria.
With Mickey, one third of the Suria Wheels. Let me point out that I am wearing Hot FM’s cap in this picture. =P
Sam and AK. Sorry babe, I just love this picture.
Hehe.
Then, at 6 p.m, got a text from the roomie claiming that she
had to OT so she had to cancel our dinner plans. Then after finding out that
Lai Mun cancelled our dinner plan, Sam kindly offered to accompany me because
she said it’s my 21st, I shouldn’t be celebrating alone so we went
to BBQ Chicken in Jaya One and waited for Lai Mun who claimed that she could
join us at about 7.30pm or so. While waiting, my first surprise came in the
form of Firdaus! I think that was the first time I was actually speechless for
about 3 to 5 minutes. Haha. He came all the way from Ampang (he said la
Then, the roomie finally came with Mun Kit, whom I saw right outside BBQ Chicken, in tow. After a while, on the pretext that she was going to the ladies room, Lai Mun came out with a cake and my parents right behind her. I swear to God, if I had a heart attack and died that night, I’d die happy but I’d still come back and haunt her..and Sam.
My cake okay! Let me just say that to whom it may concern, thank you for the message on the cake. You understood. =)
The people who came.
Thenthenthenthen, I received my 2nd present from the parents,
This was when I received the present.
But I won’t show the present here la. Saje jek nak bagi suspense sikit. Haha. But lets just say that what
I got was something rather symbolic, I liiikkeeee!
We ate and talked and tossed silly riddles at each
other. Then I received calls and texts from more awesome people that were
supposed to be there but couldn’t such as Bee Chin and Shel, Fang and Peoy, Ber
and not forgetting Danny. But you know what was the best thing I found out that
night (Apart from the fact that I enjoyed turning legal with the people I
respect, love and enjoy being with of course)?!
My parents, the best and coolest and most sporting
parents anyone could ever wished for, got along with my
friends AND my friends got along with each other despite coming from
different groups and places. Do you know how hard it is to group a bunch of
strangers and expect them talk and laugh like they’ve known each other since
eons ago? That night, I was lucky enough to realise that I’m unbelievably lucky
to have these people who care enough about me to make sure I would have a
memorable 21st even when I’m away from home. =)
