I don’t even know if anyone is still reading this blog. But if there’s still any, I thank you, sincerely..
Anyway, a lot have happened since the last time I posted something. I wen for the first leg of Suria FM’s road tour at Mydin USJ. I was stationed backstage and got to meet Erra Fazira which was cool and some other artistes like Nubhan, Dafi, Liyana Jasmay (which was cool too since I’m her fan), Imran Ajmain and the DJs like Tuah, Zizi, Akhtar, Zaff, Naim, Myra and Bob. I went for a press conference. Well, actually I didn’t actually go into the room but I was there nevertheless and met some reporters that I’ve read about before…
But that’s not why I’m writing this entry. This entry is to introduce you guys, whatever reader I still have left, to the people in the Marcomm Department so that you guys can imagine the ruckus that is created when these people are in the same room…
Okay, this picture was taken at the end of the auction at Mydin. Lets start from the back shall we? First up, *drumroll* the guy with the beanie and shades is known as Faqrul or Kapten Faqrul. He’s one half of the Multimedia and Information System (MIS) guy. A typical day for him at the office would be to work for an hour designing Suria FM’s website and take breaks by making prank calls to our phone. Basically, it’s because of him I’d developed this tendency to look behind my shoulders, at his table, before I pick up the phone..You know, just to see if it is him prank calling or maybe it’s really someone else calling. I’d also found out that he’s on Wikipedia! Well, he pointed it out to us actually. Turns out he was a DJ before..Who knew eh?! Hehe.. Then the guy next to him is Jason, the Broadcasting guy I told you people about. He’s cool I guess. We’ve had our days where we disagree or rather I’d bite his head off for annoying me but we get along most of the time.. And now looking at the front row, the person on the right is Shirley but I insist on calling her Sam because Shirley just doesn’t suit her, trust me. She may seem small and petite and cute (she’d kill me if she knows I call her “cute&rdquo Next to Sam is Abg Lan our supervisor. Seems to never lose his temper everytime we screwed up which is great because we screwed up loads in the first few weeks. Haha. He really cares for us and makes sure we get loads of freebies when he can get ahold of them. Then Kak Ash, our Assistant Manager. She answers directly to the big boss, Engku Emran. Really nice and helpful, just don’t get on her bad side, then you’re screwed. =S Kak Lin is the Senior Executive of A&P. She has this husky voice that I really like listening to. And her shoes, walauwei, awesome collection! She has this one pink sneakers that I just adore and orange ones that is as striking as our crew shirt. Out of the many people in the office, I’m rather intimidated by her because she has this fuck-off-I-don’t-give-a-shit/screw-me-and-I’ll-make-your-life-miserable air about her that makes her seems a bit scary, y’know?! LOL, I’m SO gonna fail if she reads this. =S But underneath all that, she’s actually a very caring person. She takes care of us and makes sure we’re okay. Like, the other day I found out that she actually asked Sam if I was okay because I seemed quiet on said day. =) And then there’s Abg Sham. The reigning King of Sarcasms in the office. Once, Kak Lin asked him where’d he parked his car and he went, “Eh jauh! Aku langkah 3 tapak dah sampai rumah!” LOL. So if I come back to campus, uber sarcastic, blame Abg Sham. He’s a bit like a big kid, nobody would guess he’s a father. Haha.
but she’s NOT. She’s rather brutal and quite outspoken and you so do not want to get on her bad side. But still, I get along really well with her. You could say she’s my partner-in-crime at the office. We get to all sorts of mischief in and out of the office. Like we’d disagree over who’s cute or who’s not, blowing up and photocopying a colleague’s picture and “defacing” it and bitch about people we generally dislike. But I think the best part about her is that she has awesome taste in music! (Much like mine…*ahem*) Everyday starts with us plugging in our thumb drives and blasting music from our speakers. My iTunes and iPod are filling up and it’s all thanks to her and it’s also because of her I’m addicted to this one song, “Your Winter” by Sister Hazel. Thanks babe! Haha.
Now this was also taken at Mydin and features a couple more of the Marcomm staffs in the front row on the left’s Abg Amin and right next to him, Firdaus but he’s also known by a couple of other names which I will not disclose here lest he finds out and injures me..Haha.
Anyway, Abg Amin’s the other half of the MIS team. He’s really pious and I’ve yet to see him miss prayers and is awfully adept with a camera. I’ve seen his Fotopages and the pictures are just awesome. So anyone who’s up for photography lessons, give me a ring, I might be able to hook you up with him. Haha.
And lastly, Firdaus, our Branding Executive, I think. He told me what he does but I wasn’t really paying attention (Sorry! Haha). He’s awfully tall(and never lets us forget it), I think I only come up to his upper arm but although he’s rather broad, he actually budged when I tried pushing him down the stairs once (Don’t ask why…LOL) This guy’s also rather sarcastic, much like everyone else in the office and will almost always never gives you a straight answer when you need one.
A day in the office with these people, like I’ve mentioned before, is never boring. Honeslty, I’m not saying this because I wanna get an A but I really genuinely like these people. They’re really fun to be with and we get along pretty well considering they’re our superiors. We joke around and laugh at each other. Yes, we do screw up and we get reprimanded for it but that’s just about it. After that, it’s like the whole thing had never happened.
So you know how I was dreading my attachment because I thought I might not be able to do well, I can honestly say that after doing this for a month, I think I’m gonna be just fine after all. =)
